    • A Reporter or Photographer working for News Agencies located outside the Union Territory of Puducherry but operating within Puducherry.
    • A Reporter or Videographer working in electronic media, specifically for satellite television channels.

Application Process

The application process for this scheme is offline, and media persons must follow these steps to apply:

  3. Declaration (Form-IV): This declaration confirms the details provided by the applicant, along with a purchase bill of the laptop/desktop showing the serial number, make, and other technical specifications.
  4. Press Identification Card: This card must be issued by the Directorate of Information and Publicity, Puducherry. It serves as a valid identification for the applicant as a recognized media person.
  5. Verification Certificate (Form-V): The Director of Information and Publicity, Puducherry will provide a verification certificate to confirm the authenticity of the applicant’s details.

Mode of Payment

Once the application and all the required documents are submitted and verified, the Member Secretary-cum-Director of the Department of Information & Publicity will process the application. The financial assistance will be handed over to the applicant after they provide a receipt (Form-VI) in the prescribed format, confirming the purchase of the laptop or desktop.

The payment will be made directly to the applicant, subject to the prescribed conditions.
